The leather products are made from by-products of meat that would normally be discarded, but we thought it might be a good idea to make them locally produced in Kyoto, so we planned Original Leather Miyako. However, because the cattle are raised with meat as a priority, it was more difficult than we expected to make locally produced leather products, and after much trial and error with the help of many collaborators, we finally completed this leather.

The leather is finished (tanned) with a hybrid of tannin (natural) and chrome (scientific) and is also infused with plenty of oil, making it a leather that you can enjoy watching change over time.

Scratches will be a little noticeable at first, but because the leather contains plenty of tannins and oils, they will become less noticeable as the leather develops its natural color and luster with each use.
