The surface leather is treated with "Bokashi-zome," a dyeing technique also used for kimonos. Each piece of leather is carefully hand-dyed by artisans to create an elegant gradation.
Unique Characteristics of Natural Materials
The leather used is a natural material that retains the original scars, wrinkles, and blood vessel patterns of the animal's skin, so no two items will have the exact same appearance or quality.
These are a significant charm unique to natural leather.
While prominent marks are removed during inspection, please understand that these are individual characteristics inherent to natural leather.

COTOCUL is a coined word combining Koto (ancient capital) and Culture. It expresses our desire to spread Kyoto's culture and the good qualities of Japan through manufacturing, and we value the Japanese attitude and spirit toward craftsmanship.
Our products are carefully handmade by artisans at our workshop in Kyoto.
We also offer repair services in-house. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
Staff with Leather Sommelier qualifications are stationed at our workshop.
