Miyako Leather - Small Long Wallet

The leather products are made from by-products of meat that would normally be discarded, but we thought it would be great if we could produce locally produced leather in Kyoto, so we planned Original Leather Miyako. However, because the cattle are raised primarily for meat, it was more difficult than we expected to make locally produced leather products, and after much trial and error with many collaborators, we finally completed this leather.

The leather is finished (tanned) with a hybrid of tannin (natural) and chrome (scientific) and is also rich in oil, making it a leather that changes over time and can be enjoyed.

Scratches may be a little noticeable at first, but because the leather contains a lot of tannins and oils, they will develop a natural leather color and luster with each use and become less noticeable.

Each product is handmade with care by artisans in our Kyoto workshop.
