Introducing the Gion series from Miyako Leather, made from Kyoto's Kuroge Wagyu beef. Developed with reference to the high-quality leather cordovan, Gion is attractive for its luxurious luster and leather-like feel.

MATERIAL

COTOCUL's original leather is made from Japanese black cattle raised in Kyoto. We have attempted to recreate the presence and luxury that only cordovan can offer. Unlike glass leather or enamel processing, we have created a leather that combines a glossy feel with the natural leather feel.

What is Cordovan?

This leather is made from the buttocks of a horse, and is highly rare as it can be obtained in smaller quantities than regular cowhide. It is also packed with muscle fibers, making it more durable than cowhide and giving it a beautiful, fine-grained luster, which is why it is called the "diamond of leather."

*This product is not made of cordovan.

Also, because cordovan is weaker against water than regular leather, Gion has applied a water-repellent finish to increase durability. By applying a thin coating to the surface of the leather, it is less likely to get scratched or stained even with use, so you can use it for a long time in a beautiful condition.
